FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We carry a limited supply of products in stock at our store. This means that our customers who walk into the store can design their product and have them printed while they wait. Larger orders may take a few days depending on quantity. Bulk order screen print has a two week turnaround time due to the nature of the screen print set up.
For our print on demand services we utilize digital printing methods, so the answer for this process would be no. You can print photo quality designs for the same cost as single color design when printed digitally. Screen print does take into account how many colors are used in the design as well as how many shirts are ordered.
We can print a sample digitally, but if we are screen printing the bulk order then the image may require alterations depending on the artwork used. Also screen printing colors are a slightly different make up than the ink used in digital printing. There can be notable differences in brilliance and other aspects of the prints between these two methods.
Screen printing is the traditional method for which t-shirts have been printed for many years. This process requires essentially a stencil to be produced for each color in your design. Those stencils then have to be mounted onto the press and carefully aligned in a fashion that allows each color to be separately printed on top of each other resulting in the final image. This ink is a plastic based ink known as plastisol. Bright colors and a heavy solid print are some of the positive attributes of this ink. Special effects such as glow in the dark, glitter, or even a puff effect are possible with this ink. Digital printing utilizes a highly modified inkjet printer and special water based screen print inks formulated to run in this machine. It comes up with color profiles by mixing CMYK colors just like a standard printer used in many homes today.
